Thank you for your interest in joining the Community Chorus of Detroit!  We are a non-auditioned chorus that welcomes all singers who:
  • have at least basic music-reading skills; many of our members are experienced singers.
  • have a pleasant voice quality and are able to match tones and basic musical patterns.
  • are willing to commit to regular rehearsal attendance, with a maximum of two absences per season (fall or spring).  In order to participate in the performances with more than two absences, please check with our conductor or executive director.
  • are willing to be supportive of the chorus through active participation, volunteerism, ticket sales, and concert promotion.

–RETURNING CHORISTERS:  Please let our administrator, Katrina Van Maanen ( know that you will sing with the chorus this semester.  If your Chorus Connection info is unchanged, skip A-C below, and go directly to D.  For all semester dates/times see Chorus Handbook. Dues payment (see D below) may be made from now until the end of the second rehearsal. However, a score packet is only available to those who have paid dues.


A. Please review the Chorus Handbook (in the drop-down menu under Membership, or just click here: Chorus Handbook). This will give you all the info you’ll need, including venue, dates, repertoire, concert attire, etc.  By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and accept the terms and conditions of our liability waiver/disclaimer, per the Chorus Handbook. Registration for the SPRING 2023  (including dues payment) is now closed. Please check our Chorus Handbook in August 2023 for information on our Fall 2023 semester

B. If you are new to the chorus or have changes in your info, please fill out and submit the form above, and we’ll get back to you soon.

To activate your membership in the CCD, please complete the membership info there and post your photo, following the quick and easy instructions. Chorus Connection is our online means of communicating with you as a CCD member, so please be sure to join ASAP when you receive your invitation.  We ask that you activate your Chorus Connection account, even if you aren’t quite ready to commit before officially registering for the chorus. By activating your account, you will receive all pre-season info and the first editions of our Wednesday Notes (our CCD newsletter), which has info you’ll need to participate.  Having your Chorus Connection account activated does not obligate you in any way.

D. You are welcome to pay dues via Paypal at ($60/semester, $110/season), or you can pay dues by cash or check at rehearsal.  (Scores are only available with paid dues.) We have two (2) one-semester dues fellowships for returning members who are experiencing financial difficulty.
