–Visit Zaanse Schans to see working windmills, dating from the 17th century
–Enjoy a traditional Indonesian-Dutch Rijsttafel feast
–Visit the picturesque fishing village of Volendam
–Hear CCD Conductor Ed Maki-Schramm play one of the great organs of the world in Haarlem – an instrument played by Handel and 10-year-old Mozart
–Tour the Delft factory to see how the famous blue-and-white pottery is made
–Explore Bruges, Belgium, called “the Venice of the north” with its canals, renowned as one of the most beautiful cities of Europe – and enjoy a canal cruise
–Visit Ghent for some photos of this magnificent city, dating from the 12th century
–Attend a harp concert at a small, private harp museum – just for our group
–Tour a “chocolatier” to see how the delicious Belgian chocolate is made
–Visit Reims, France to see the stunning cathedral and have a wine tasting – in the heart of France’s scenic champagne country
In addition, we’ll provide contact info and links prior to the tour for you to make optional, independent reservations for suggested highlights to see in Amsterdam during free time, such as Anne Frank’s home, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, a Concertgebouw Orchestra concert, and others.
As on past tours, our optional 3-day extension in Paris will be planned for more independent travel – on your own, with a companion, or with new tour friends, and our Tour Manager from the Main Tour will continue with us to provide concierge services. Included are: a guided city tour, tickets for unlimited public transportation (Paris Metro and buses), beautiful hotel accommodations with breakfast, a special farewell dinner, and coach transfer to the airport at the end of our stay. Suggestions for what to see and do in the City of Light will be provided closer to our tour date.
